Marble

Marble, more delicate and less resistant than granite, has both aesthetic and practical value. It comes in a great variety of colours and textures, which gives designers virtually unlimited possibilities to realise their inspirations. Among the most famous marbles, there is Italian marble from Carrara, which was used by ancient and renaissance sculptors and has also enjoyed great popularity in modern times. Marble is white in its pure form, but its varieties come in all possible colours.

Marble is more and more often used as a finishing material in flats and houses. Its especially popular in bathrooms, but it is also used for flooring in places where other, less resistant materials would be quickly damaged. It seems that natural stone as a material for floors is much more appreciated by the customers than ceramic or porcelain tiles, particularly in halls, kitchens or living rooms with fireplaces. Granite and marble is often used as materials for windowsills or stairs cladding, and single, cut granite or marble panels are perfect for kitchen countertops or vanity tops in bathrooms.

Among architectural details of the interior, one of the most magnificent elements is a granite or marble fireplace or mantelpiece, which can come in modern or classic style. Granite and marble are also perfect for stairs cladding: there are tiles even as thin as 8mm which are fixed directly onto unfinished stairs surface.
