Stairs
One of the most attractive solutions is constructing stairs of full slabs of stone. Such a design is especially recommended for spiral stairs. Using polished stone as a material for stairs construction one must remember about anti-slip protection of the edges of steps. In designing stone elements of stairs, it is possible to use, apart from even, polished surface, also broken, matt or gloss pieces. Another very important subject is the final visual effect; the colours should be chosen in such a way that together they would form an aesthetic unity. Therefore, it is recommended to use the same kind of marble, or even equally thick stone slabs for all the treads and risers. The most splendid visual effects can be achieved by using stones in vivid colours, focusing mainly on the risers, which are not exploited as extensively as treads and offer lots of possibilities of comibinations and experiments with colourful marble. Obviously, an appropriate combination of colours of treads and risers requires at least a minimum of aesthetic taste.
